After substantial lab testing, Engineers will be upgrading the Broadband4 Netsweeper web filtering platform to the latest 8.1.8 release. This release offers functionality and performance improvements, along with bugfixes and the latest security patches. This will allow Broadband4 to contain to sustain a reliable filtering platform going forward.

During this maintenance window there will be periods of downtime to the following elements of the Netsweeper platform:

  • Policy management via the webadmin portal.
  • Reporting.
  • Internet connectivity.

The upgrade process has been thoroughly tested, although, should any issues arise during this process, a full rollback plan is in place.

The upgrade to Netsweeper version 8 comes as the final part of a period of significant network upgrades to accommodate our growing network and to provide our customer base with new Ultra-Fast Broadband options.
